Our distinctive menu features a wide range of recipes to suit every taste. All our dishes come with that extra personal touch that makes the Laughing Lizard the best dining experience in the Jemez Valley. We use only the freshest ingredients available and prepare each dish to order. We serve both meat and vegetarian dishes to accomodate everyone's preferences.

Our coffee and espresso is a special French Roast blend especially made for the Laughing Lizard Cafe by local New Mexico coffee roasters. Come sit by our woodstove and savor a cup of real, honest java!

Dinner reservations for parties of six or more only. For less than six people, just show up with an appetite! Our friendly wait staff will seat you promptly.

The following is a brief sampling of the delights you'll find on our menu. (Items and prices subject to change.) In addition to dinner specials prepared by our chefs daily, we offer:

STARTERS $2 - $6

cheese crisp with salsa, chips & salsa, mozzarella veggie crisp with mushrooms & sundried tomatoes, crusty bruschetta (tomato, mozzarella, garlic, pesto on toasted sourdough)

SALADS $3 - $9

  • grilled pesto chicken - chicken breast on fresh mixed greens, topped with tomato, carrots, onion, sprouts & croutons with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
  • sweet potato spinach - with walnuts, carrots, croutons tossed with olive oil & lemon.
  • salmon - grilled salmon on a bed of fresh greens, topped with carrots, herbs and green onion, with fresh squeezed lime & olive oil.
  • greek - artichoke hearts, mushrooms, olives, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, raspberry vinaigrette.

SANDWICHES, QUESADILLAS, STIR FRIES $8 - $10

  • grilled garden burger - on toasted wheat, lettuce & tomato and chips..
  • grilled canadian bacon - pesto, tomato & mozzarella on sourdough with chips.
  • buffalo burger - lean half-pound buffalo burger on foccacia with chips.
  • chicken zia -grilled chicken breast with green chili & jack cheese, lettuce & tomato on sourdough with chips.
  • pesto quesadilla - two flour tortillas, sundried tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, pesto, mozzarella.
  • chicken quesadilla - two flour tortillas, corn, chicken, tomatoes, chopped pecans, cilantro & jack cheese.

PIZZAS, sizes: 7", 14", 16" : $5, $16, $18

  • jemez traditional - mozzarella and choice of pepperoni or canadian bacon.
  • virgin mesa - olive oil, pesto, sundried tomotes, feta cheese, mushrooms, & mozzarella.
  • 3 cheese blanco - olive oil, mozzarella, monterey jack, feta cheese.

BURRITOS, $7 - $10

  • fresh spinach - black beans, rice, mushrooms, jack cheese with salsa and chips.
  • breakfast burrito - two scrambles eggs, fresh spinach, tomotoes, onions, mushrooms, jack & cheddar with salsa and potatoes.
  • spicy raspberry-chipolte chicken burrito - chicken, bells, onions, rice & chips and salsa.
  • curry tofu burrito -fresh spinach, onion, raisins, curry sauce, rice. served with mixed greens.
  • bison burrito - ground bison, onion, garlic, bell pepper, rice, & special sauce. served with mixed greens.

BEVERAGES

Beer - New Belgium Fat Tire, Mendocino Black Hawk Stout, Sierra Nevada, and Cabezon Hefeveisen Wheat Ale.

Wine - Jemez Red (Ponderosa Winery), Pino Grigio (Glen Ellen), White Zinfandel (Santa Fe Winery), Louis Jadot Cabernet (Table Cabernet).

We make all our own desserts from scratch and by hand! We offer a tantalizing selection of delicious pies, cakes, cobblers and more. Cap it off with a cup of our specially roasted coffee and you've got the perfect end to a perfect meal.

Laughing Lizard Chocolate Mousse

Melt 4 cups chocolate chips with 1/3 pound butter over low heat. Stir constantly. Add 1 cup ground espresso and 2 Tbs. vanilla. When chocolate is cool, fold into 1 pint stiffly whipped cream. Mix well. Pour into serving dishes. Freeze tightly wrapped, or serve immediately with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
Consume with cheerful gusto!
