Built originally
as a mercantile serving the mountain community, over the years
the building has been home to various cafes, a bar and a community
center. Around 1929 the Lizard was the scene of a raucous Jack
Dempsey boxing demonstration.
The full
service cafe is located in a charming, hundred year old adobe
& stone structure with eleven-foot high pressed tin ceilings,
hardwood floors and three foot thick walls. One can feel the old
stories just by walking in the door.
